Abstract

Sedimentation process includes the processes of erosion, transport, deposition and compaction of the sediment . this process running very complex begin from the rains fall which produces kinetic energy that is the beginning of the erosion process. purpose of the research was to determine the effect of changes in debit of sediment movement, while the purpose of research is that the results can be a consideration in predicting the sediments transport carried by the flow which related with magnitude of debit flow. In this research was made the flow cross section with 80 cm for width and 200 cm for length, as well used the samples of sediment with diameter 0.85 mm and the variation of flow rates used such us 0.55 x 10-3 m3/second, 0.83 x 10-3 m3/second, 1.26 x 10-3 m3/second, 2.50 x 10-3 m3/second, 2.60 x 10-3 m3/second, 3.17 x 10-3 m3/second, 3.61 x 10-3 m3/second, 4.43 x 10-3 m3/second, 4.85 x 10-3 m3/second. research included measurements of debit, water level measurement, calculation of cross-sectional area, flow velocity measurements, measurements of sediment movement and analysis chart of sediment movement with the rank regression model. Based analysis of test data obtained that, on the highest debit 4.85 x 10-3 m3/second obtained the highest sediment transport 0.042 kg and distance transport 172.67 cm. with rank regression obtained coefficients correlates (R) 0.9776 (positive relation) and the regression equation Ŷ= 11 x 10-3 X0.0915 for relations between debit of sediment movement distance, while for the relation of sediment debit for the capacity obtained correlation coefficient (R) of 0.9925 (positive relation) and the regression equation Ŷ=8,7317X1,030. then known that the greater of flow carry much sediment loads and long distances, the small of flow rates and water levels will slow the movement of sediment, so that the deposition of sediments on the flow cross section be high.
