Low level of confidence and competence in English grammar result in Indonesian students underachieving at the international level such as in winning international grants. Three main areas were covered in the process: the study of the problems that Indonesians face while studying the English grammar, designing a systematic teaching method, and designing a computer application of the new teaching method. The study yielded three main results. First we developed a set of new tools to explain the grammar of simple statements in the English language which included new tenses, a new approach in defining tenses, and a set of formulae.
