The use of paving blocks as paving material is an environment friendly pavement technique due to the ability of the system to allow rain water to seep through the pavement into the ground, hence aiding the conservation of ground water. The objective of this study was to investigate the benefit of substituting part of the cement with crushed roof tiles to the enhancement of its compressive strength. The raw material for the production of paving block was semen, sand and crushed roof tiles. The ratio of cement over sand was 1:4. Crushed roof tiles were added into the mixture to substitute 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of the cement by weight. The dimension of each testing specimen was 20 cm x 10 cm x 6 cm.
