PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN TUMBUKAN BATU BATA MERAH DAN PENGURANGAN SEMEN TERHADAP KUAT TEKAN SERTA KEAUSAN PAVING BLOCK

Abstract

Paving blocks are widely used in the construction field such as pavement, roads, parking space. Ease of installation, maintenance is cheap and fulfilling aspects of the beauty of the resulting paving blocks more preferred. Manufacture of paving blocks is not optimal in terms of quality because it is still made in small scale as a product of home industry. This study of alternative paving block making material with added impact of red brick with cement reduction. This research uses experimental methods using normal specimens and specimens with the addition of red brick collision. The specimens prepared without the addition of normal collision of red brick, while the research specimens made with various additional collision of red brick 5%, 10% and 15% of the weight and the reduction of cement, the specimen size (20 x 10 x 6) cm3 for testing compressive strength and water absorption while the (5 x 5 x 2) cm3for heavy wear and unit testing. Tests conducted is this study involved testing of paving block charcteristics (compressive strength, unit weight, wear and water absorption paving block). The results showed that the addition of red brick collisions by 5% by weight with a reduction of copressive strength of cement has the greatest 153.85 kg/cm2 and water absorption 7.96% higher than in the addition of 10% and 15% are qualified compressive strength and absorption of water quality C, while the largest wear 0.188 mm/min and 2.08 units of heavy gr/cm3 higher than the addition of 10% and 15% are also eligible wear qualityC. based on the test result is obtained that the paving blocks at 28 days of testing the strength and resilience of paving block with the addition of red brick collision can not exceed the normal stregth of paving blocks.
